This Halloween evening, the European Rugby Cup honours the Scottish border town of Galashiels. Scotland go into this game top of the group, having beaten Ireland in Dublin last week and the Land of Honey the week before.

France, who suffered a heavy defeat to Ireland in the first week, are second in the table.

If Scotland manage to avoid defeat they will qualify for one of the coveted places in the 2016 Four Nations, otherwise it would be an insult to brave Australia. Qualification would be a boon for rugby league.

The Four Nations tournament would be a great opportunity to showcase the game in a country where rugby is only played up to the age of 20.

not-found out on the Four Nations tournament, on the other hand, would be another major blow for French rugby. The Chansonniers missed out on the 2011 edition after failing to qualify for Wales. Most recently, the French had to cancel a trip to New Zealand in 2015.

The Kiwis beat the French to organise a trip against the English. With several regulars not-found tonight, including Rémi Casty and Olivier Elima, France could miss another chance to catch up with the best rugby teams in the world.
