The radical revelations about Ray Rice’s strike on his then fiancĂ©, who is now a wife, as shown in the video published by TMZ this morning, led to quick, decisive and strong measures: the NFL modified his two-game suspension indefinitely, and the Ravens terminated his contract, absorbing a huge cap of 15 million the price of good public relations and breaking public contact with an strikeer.

The timing of the video’s release couldn’t have been worse for Rice, who was originally scheduled to return to the Ravens on Friday, three days earlier than normal, for their Thursday night game. It also happened at a time when Roger Goodell, after the public outcry over the two-game suspension and the video that contradicted Rice’s original account of what had happened and finally did the right thing by forcing him out, apparently made the punishment desperately worse. The crows, whose name is hurt in all this, quickly broke ties to do the right thing, or at least that’s what I like to think.

Rice has no place in the NFL. No team should tolerate domestic roughness and the four professional sports leagues should copy the NFL’s policies; the four unions should work with the leagues to bring these policies to the CBA. We need to get these strikeers out of the league and the courts need to throw them in jail. There must be a strong and brutal punishment, and men like Ray Rice should be kicked out of the League. If your dream was to play in the NFL, MLB, NBA or NHL, then you would need to lose that to be such terrible people. Leagues need to be proactive.

I hope the 49ers cut Ray MacDonald if he’s guilty, for the same reasons. I don’t agree with them letting him play against Dallas, and he should be suspended now.
